Vanessa Bryant Shares Final Letter From Kobe Bryant on her Birthday
Vanessa celebrated her 38th birthday on May 5th, and it goes without saying it was a somber occasion. This is the first birthday that Vanessa has had to celebrate without her husband Kobe and daughter Gianna by her side.
Kobe 41, and Gianna 14, passed away in a helicopter crash on January 26th along with seven additional passengers. Vanessa, along with her three daughters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri have been doing the best they can to heal day by day after such a tragic loss.
Gianna would have celebrated her 14th birthday on May 1st and Vanessa honored her daughter by asking everyone to wear red (Gigi’s favorite color), share an act of kindness, and share the photo via social media using the hashtag #playgigisway
For Vanessa’s birthday, she shared a photo to Instagram holding an envelope, revealing that it was the “final letter” from Kobe. “Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my life. From, Tu Papi. I waited to open one more letter on my birthday.”

Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi ❤️I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.❤️The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover. Missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita- my fellow Taurus. Grateful to wake up to my 3 sweet girls today. Wish we were all together. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️#MyBirthdayWish
Thankfully, Vanessa has a strong support system with family and friends rallying around her and her daughters as they continue to heal.
